At SCM, we are interested in how you think, how you see the world, and how you respond to the media and society. Our admission process is designed to give you multiple ways to express yourself—through writing, video, conversation, and independent work.
Understand our screening process to maximise your chances of securing admission for the batch of 2026-2027 at SCMSophia. The new batch starts from July, 2026.
The Admission Process
Admission to the SCM programme is a five-part process. Each stage looks at a different aspect of your curiosity, commitment, and readiness for media education.
STEP 1: Fill the Application Form
You begin by filling out the online application form with your personal, academic, and contact details. Please ensure that all information is accurate and complete, as this will be referred to throughout the admission process. The registration fee payable for the application is Rs. 1500. Please deposit the amount in the account details given below:

Before filling out the SCM Sophia admission form, please ensure you have clear scanned copies (in JPEG or PDF format) of the following documents ready for upload:

STEP 2: Written Entrance Test (All India - Online)
You will appear for an online written test designed to understand how you engage with media, ideas, and society - what you watch, read, listen to, and notice in everyday life.
The test will be conducted online in the first week of April 2026.
The written test will be conducted in a time‑bound, trust‑based online format, allowing you to participate from anywhere in India.

You will receive the question paper via Google Classroom at a specified start time.

You must complete the test within 90 mins.

Your answers should be handwritten, scanned and submitted as one single PDF.
The test is open-book. However, all responses must be original and written by you. Use of plagiarised or AI‑generated content will lead to disqualification.
STEP 3: Video Profile
On the successful completion of the written test, you will be asked to record and upload a short video profile on a particular aspect of your life. This is an opportunity for us to hear you in your own voice and understand how you articulate your thoughts.
STEP 4: Personal Interview (Online)
If shortlisted, you will be invited for a personal interview with a panel. The interview allows us to have a conversation with you about your interests, your test responses, and your motivation to study at SCM.
STEP 5: 24 Hour Challenge
At the end of the interview, you will be given a 24 hour challenge.
You will be required to complete the challenge within 24 hours. This stage helps us understand how you work independently with media format as well as time-bound tasks.

Eligibility
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 50%.
Candidates appearing for their Semester VI summer examinations can also apply, but their admission will be provisional and it will only be finalised on clearing Semester VI examinations and submitting the mark-sheets of Semester I- VI.
